Top tip! Be mindful of the content of the next lesson, 1.3. Collect all forms of evidence for your assignment.
In the next lesson you will need to collate evidence of you working with others. So if you are meeting with others for help and support for this task, whether this be a sports coach, parent, organisational leader or gym manager for example, record evidence of these meetings to help you with the following lesson. It may be useful to have a little read through the tasks for 1.3 so that you do not miss out on collecting important evidence.

How to plan and organise with others a competitive sports activity.
Plan and organise with others a competitive sports activity
The key to organising anything is planning, and organising a competitive sports activity is no exception. Every sporting event will be different, so you will need to think carefully about your specific activity.
Working with others
For the next lesson, 1.3, you will need to gather evidence to show that you have worked with others while planning and organising. So, think about who may help you organise this activity? Is it a coach, another team player or an expert in your chosen sport?
How will you work with others and how will you use their own personal expertise? Gather evidence that can be used for your next lesson. This could be photos of you working with others, a journal, noting conversations had with others or video footage of group conversations.
Decide on a competitive sports activity
It‘s always a good idea to start with what you know, so it would be wise to start with a sport that you are familiar with and perhaps already involved with.
If you are not involved in a competitive sport, think about how you could perhaps turn your favourite excerise into one?
Think about who would take part
Do you know a group of people or team who would like to take part? Do you go to a local club with other people who may want to help you?
When planning the activity, will you group people into teams or will you ask whole teams to sign up and take part in your activity?

Gather evidence and demonstrate how you have planned and organised with others a competitive sports activity.
Write up a response using full sentences, answering the questions below from each of the three parts. You could represent the information as a table, report, presentation or any preferred method you may have to display this information.
Within your assignment include all the various forms of evidence that you have collected. This could be photos, screenshots, text message chains or any other additional evidence that will help reference all of the criteria below.
1. Planning- The details
You will need to decide the following details:
2. Draw up a list of requirements
Think about and answer the following points within your response:
3. Consider a contingency plan. What if?
To help the event run smoothly, it is advisable to think about what, if anything, goes wrong and what you would do in that circumstance?
For example, what will you do if the weather is bad? If someone has an accident? What will you do if someone doesn’t turn up or if there is a problem with the venue? Include this information within your response.
4. What is my success criteria or my competitive element?
Depending on your activity, it may be quite easy to decide on what your success criteria may be, especially if competing in a race or match; however, it may be more challenging to determine. You will need to consider what you will be looking for, thinking about elements such as:
It is important to work out now, at your planning stage, what your success criteria will be so that you know what your competitive element will be within your activity. Ensure you include this in your planning.
